"Working in clay provides a sort of therapy for me.  I love the soft, tactile quality…and the connectedness I feel when working with the medium.”  Most of Kristy Jo's work starts out on the potter's wheel and often gets altered, carved or is assembled from multiple parts.

In order to obtain a variety of surfaces, she works with a variety of stoneware  clays.  She maintains a small studio in Leo, Indiana & fires her pieces to over 2300 degrees in a gas kiln.  Kristy Jo’s work is available every day at The Orchard Gallery of Fine Art, as well as the 15-20 juried and invitational events in which she participates in a given year.

Kristy Jo has her BFA from Indiana University.  She has been teaching pottery classes through Continuing Studies at IPFW since 2005.
